Omicron is the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 70. This is not a good sign.
Looks like governments around the world are much more vigilant this time round.
South Africa government should not be too defensive about the travel bans by other countries.
It is the right thing to do for now, until further patterns evolve.
This is a life or death situation.
But Omicron will create a prolonged, paranoid 3 year lockdown that will far more damaging indirect consequences, but it will have less direct deaths than Delta.
