My Cult Story
The Robren Cult Story began when he joined the Brahma Kumaris in 1979 at the age of 20.
He thought the world will end in 1986, so he gave up his university studies in Melbourne, and started the Brahma Kumaris Malaysia in 1981 with his brother Tom as the world’s first two Chinese BK leaders.

Confessions of a Cult Leader
Robren was known as BK Robert. He was with the BKs from 1979 to 1989. The Brahma Kumaris was the strictest religion he ever joined.

BKs woke up for 4am Yoga meditation, practice Celibacy, did not eat food cooked by non-BKs including their mothers. It is a doomsday cult like most cults and religions believe in the end of the world and heaven on earth.

Cult Expert & Investigative Journalist
Robren is a Cult Expert who works with various mainstream media as an Investigative Journalist, with other Cult Experts who are members of International Cult Studies Association (ICSA).

The BK Memoirs Author
Robren wrote The Brahma Kumaris Memoirs during the period of the death of Dadi Gulzar, the chariot of BK’s god Shiva Baba on 11th March 2021.

From BK Critic to BK Bridger
On the day before Bapdada, the god of Brahma Kumaris left the earth for good on 11th March 2021, Robren shifted the paradigm from being a BK super critic to a BK Bridger he had countless trolls attacked him from BK and Anti-BK sides.After 3 years of writing insightful, truthful, highly critical articles and videos on Brahma Kumaris and their beliefs, he found his efforts were counter-productive.

You can’t go against a Cult alone!
Most family members of a Cult member make the mistake of going against the cult alone!

1) Tone down.
Firstly heal your heart. Nobody, I mean NOBODY, wants to talk to someone who is constantly a ‘thorn on the side’, who is aggressive, one-sided, attacking.

2) Offer an Olive Branch.
Show your deep sincerity by being the first to open the door of opportunity and communication, to breakdown the walls of defense!

3) Switch from Negative to Positive.
Switch from hatred to love.
From burning the bridge to building the bridge.
From attacking to understanding.

4) Build Relationships with Cult Heads.
Most cult leaders will respond positively IF YOU show signs of love, encouragement, care and concern of their members.

Talk from the cult’s point of view.
Find some common ground topics.
For e.g. Share how the member is behaving ‘strangely’ especially the 9 Deadly Vices (Jealousy, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Laziness, Anger, Arrogance, Addiction and Attachment).

5) Promote Service & Life Balance.
Talk to the Cult Centre-In-Charge about maintaining a sustainable religious service, work and life balance.
Share with the Cult Head that it is much more healthy for the concern member to maintain a close bond with their physical (“lokik” in Hindi) family members.

6) Report to the Authorities & Police.

6 Steps to be a Cult Whistleblower


Step 1: Gather as much evidence, website and social media pages, contact details of the founder and senior cult leaders.

Identify the unethical damages the cult makes e.g. marriage failures, cult isolation, doomsday fears and beliefs, brainwashing, weird beliefs, cult leaders’ excessive lifestyle (private jets, luxury cars, high end products), mind control, weird practices, rape, sexual harassment, excessive bullying, violence, punishment, apostate persecution, surrendering money and property, investments, etc.

Step 2: Study the modus operandi how the cult works.

Step 3: Identify the logical fallacies why people fall for this cult.

One of the most common logical fallacies is there are famous celebrities or public figures who unknowingly endorse such cult groups.

Step 4: Get as many victims to make a Police Report as an individual whistleblower.

When there are more victims making police reports they can’t ignore the cult.

Step 5: Make a Whistleblower Complaint to Registrar of Societies, Money Laundering, Security Commission, or the relevant authorities. Follow up closely.

Step 6: Connect with an relevant Business News Editor, show the Editor the Case Reference Number and Police Report.
Give the Editor at least 3 families of cult victims who are willing to talk and whistleblow. Follow up closely.
