Robert’s View
I had the privilege to have known Brother Vincent. Taking over from Brother Utan Paul as the Brother Director was a very hard act to follow indeed as Bro. Paul was very much loved and respected.

But Brother Vincent made his own mark in St. Michael’s Institution. I wished the Malaysian Immigration Department had granted him a Malaysian Citizenship (including other deserving foreigners) for all the contribution he made.

He became the Advisor to The Valiant Vanguards, an extra-curricular activity group. I joined Valiant Vanguards when I was in Primary One (7 years old) under Eileen Yeap who was my primary school teacher. I joined it for 12 years and reached the highest level called Promoter. At that time I was the Head of the Rose Team – in those innocent days there were no issues of feminine-associated words like rose, etc. haha.

I had wonderful childhood and school memories especially the Vanguards Training Camps held in weekends or school holiday in Ipoh, Taiping, Lumut, Teluk Intan. I remember the great bonding, exciting games and activities, story-telling, inspirational talks by Vanguard teachers, and uplifting, fun, meaningul songs such as Auld Lang Syne, If you happy and you know it clap your hands, which is all but lost in today’s internet-based world.

It made such a strong spiritual impression till today that I created my own version of Vanguard Training Camps for corporate, leadership, personal effectiveness, and spiritual workshops in ChangeU International.
