KUALA LUMPUR: The fate of two sisters whose parents and baby sister were killed in a car crash on the DUKE Highway last Saturday May 2nd continues to capture public attention.

Today, Malaysia’s pop diva Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, also visited and presented personal donation to the sisters, seven-year-old Nur Firuza Amira and four-year-old Nur Firuza Aqila, at their home in Taman Batu Muda, Batu Caves here.

The visit clearly brought joy to the sisters, especially as Siti Nurhaliza is Amira’s favourite singer.

Siti Nurhaliza, who was accompanied by her husband, Khalid Mohammed Jiwa, spent over an hour with the girls and their grandmother, Normah Toso, 65.

Without disclosing the amount of her donation, Siti Nurhaliza said she and her husband would continue to provide financial aid to the sisters, especially for their education, through their charity organisation, Yayasan Nurjiwa.

“My husband and I will help them in any way we can, especially for their education, InsyaAllah (God willing),” she said.

Meanwhile, Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (Maiwp) chief executive officer Zainal Abidin Jaffar also visited the family and presented an emergency donation of RM30,000.

He said Maiwp would also finance the cost of education for the two sisters right to the tertiary level.

“Besides, if they get sick, we will also bear the cost for their medical treatments, as they are now among the asnaf (group entitled to receive tithe),” he said.

Meanwhile, the sisters’ uncle Mohamad Yusni Husain, 49, expressed thanks and gratitude to the public and the media for their concern over the well-being of his nieces.

“Yesterday, almost 2,000 people came to visit us and wanted to meet with the girls. I’m so touched,” he said.

The girls’ parents, Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35, and Nova Safitri Azhari, 25, and their seven-month-old baby sister Nur Firuza Annisa, were killed in the 1.05am accident involving three vehicles at Km6.2 of the DUKE Highway.
