My “dark secrets” life lessons applied to coaching, writing, inspiration and healing (Twin-Souls Part 22)
(“Twin Souls Odyssey”: Part 22 of the true real time story of a ‘Twin Souls’ connection, and the search for unconditional love, truth, healing, attraction, and spirituality)
My life lessons and deep understanding are applied to coaching personal growth and corporate leadership.
My readers who are my close friends are quite concerned about why I am sharing and revealing my “dark secrets” online. They are scared that people will judge and misunderstand me.
They are right! I’m very certain that some will judge and misunderstand me. That’s the price I have to pay to be transparent and open about something that I ‘m passionate about helping others.
“Dark secrets lose their darkness when it’s appropriately shared with supportive friends.
However, if you keep dark secrets, they will haunt you throughout your life. Dark secrets become your monster master.
When you accept and embrace your dark secret with love, not fear, then the truth will set you free.”
~ Robert Chaen
I’ve made a strong stand in life for truth, unconditional love, freedom, and oneness.
A personal note to my close friends, ChangeU graduates, and staff
To my close friends, ChangeU graduates and staff, just know when I can write about my painful experiences, turmoil, hang-ups, and share my “dark secrets”, that I’m OK and I’m highly functional.
Like an ordinary human being I have learnt to cope and overcome my crises, Bipolar Disorder, and relationship issues.
To my close friends, I know many of you do not know how to relate to me, express your feelings and grief about Brenda or to myself, or help me.
Some have kept a safe distance maybe for fear of their being “sucked into the great abyss”.
But write I must.
I had to write to “get it out of my system”.
Writing, designing, and coaching were my 3 biggest healing tools – to make sense of what’s happening to me. Very few or none commented on my personal blogs.
Many friends intuitively “gave me lots of space” to rant.
To my ChangeU Corporate Graduates who thinks I’m a super-coach who shows no signs of mental disorders and who are shocked to read about inner self, I have this to say: “I’m only human. Like the physical body which can get sick, the brain and mind can get sick too.”
I’m sharing this because I want to help those suffering from Bipolar, from many other Personality Disorders, and life challenges (everyone have one or more and to a severe or lesser extent) in my coaching.
Because I have personal experiences coaching a wife who became temporary suicidal I can help those who are suicidal and friends and relatives of those who are suicidal. For example Brenda was excellent in counselling graduates who were suicidal because she shared from her personal transformation.
To my “Papillon” personal growth graduates, I have openly shared my struggles with you. By sharing my vulnerability, I have opened a wide door for others to share their weaknesses and issues, and move away from denial towards self-acceptance.
To my Ex-Staff and current ChangeU Team, you have seen how I coped with Bipolar. The current team knows very well that I’m OK as I consistently share when I have some temporary bad periods. I do hope you forgive me for my brief down periods and I ask for your forgiveness and understanding. I’m very fortunate that I have attracted good staff who supports me.
My Bipolar, relationship issues, and my traumatic experiences seeing the death of Brenda “are all gifts from God to me”. I’m using my personal experiences to coach graduates to take charge of their lives, achieve goals, make new life-changing choices, and be enlightened.
I’ve been both to “The Valley of Death” and “The Mountain of Inspiration”
I’ve been there. I can instantly recognize individual’s struggles with their “90% Iceberg of fears, mental barriers, blindspots, and root causes”.
Brenda is my guardian angel. She had put me in a real situation to get me to feel what’s like to be totally abandoned. She had also put individuals for me to help and heal, people who have their loved ones in dying mode, or in death situations. I’ve seen many scenarios and there are much more she and God will be sending to me…
I coach with compassion, empathy, and I will not let your “dark side” overcome your “positive light”.
The truth is I’m a “Lone Ranger”. In psychology I identified myself as a “Schizoid” personality disorder characterized by emotional aloofness and solitary habits.
1 in 4 adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder
Mental disorders are common in the United States and internationally. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. Even though mental disorders are widespread in the population, the main burden of illness is concentrated in a much smaller proportion — about 6 percent, or 1 in 17 — who suffer from a serious mental illness. In addition, mental disorders are the leading cause of disability in the U.S. and Canada. Many people suffer from more than one mental disorder at a given time. Nearly half (45 percent) of those with any mental disorder meet criteria for 2 or more disorders, with severity strongly related to comorbidity.
Because of my own Bipolar Disorder and Schizoid PD I have researched a lot about psychology, mindsets, and personality disorders. I can easily detect characteristics and this deep reference wisdom has proven to be invaluable in my coaching, counselling, and mentoring of graduates, clients, CEOs and celebrities.
All my life experiences are especially useful when coaching in our flagship personal growth workshop called “Papillon Metamorphosis Journey”.
